Last Friday was the second annual National Manufacturing Day and QTE attended the event held at SWIC in Granite City, IL. Over 400 local high school students with an interest in Manufacturing as potential career choices were brought to the SWIC campus where local Government leaders and businesses participated in spreading the message about the importance of manufacturing to our economy as well as the new fact of manufacturing. In addition to touring the campus and its state of the art precision machining center, students were taken on tours of local manufacturing businesses to see how much technology is integrated into today’s high tech shops and how manufacturing is not the dirty environment the media tends to portray.
