Xtreme Precision’s Journey with Mastercam  

In 2013, in the bustling city of Los Angeles, California, two co-workers at a machine shop, Sergei Polishchuk and Dave Cannon, took a bold step. They decided to launch their own business, Xtreme Precision. What started with a single Star SB20 Swiss lathe and a single barfeeder, Xtreme Precision has since grown into a thriving enterprise, thanks to their partnership with Mastercam. This is their story.

The Beginnings of Xtreme Precision  

Xtreme Precision was born out of a shared vision and commitment to excellence. With a focus on serving the aerospace and defense industries, the company quickly outgrew its modest beginnings. Over the course of just three years, it added two more machines to its lineup and relocated to a larger, 4000 sqft facility in Chatsworth, California.

The company’s growth didn’t stop there. By 2019, Xtreme Precision had moved into a 10k sqft facility in Gallatin, Tennessee, boasting 13 Star machines. Today, the company operates 21 Star Swiss Lathes, 4 Eurotech Trofeo Mill Turns, a Mitsubishi sinker and wire EDM, 2 Okuma 5-axis mills, and a Zeiss CMM. Xtreme Precision recently achieved the prestigious ISO 13485 certification and employs 12 full-time staff.

The Founders’ Journey  

Sergei, an immigrant from Ukraine, arrived in the US in 2003 with his wife. Despite not speaking English and holding a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Sergei was determined to create a better life. He learned English through ESL classes and started taking machining classes, where he met Dave.

Dave, a Los Angeles native, had a lifelong passion for racing and modifying motorcycles. This love of mechanics led him to a career as a machinist. Before starting Xtreme Precision, he managed a screw machine shop. Together, Sergei and Dave combined their skills and experiences to create a company that would leave its mark on the manufacturing industry.
