A few weeks ago QTE Manufacturing Solutions participated in Manufacturing Day 2015. We had multiple employees at various technical colleges in the Saint Louis area to showcase what manufacturing is really like and the technology involved.
Jason Quinn was at the Ranken Wentzville location and presented to area high school students about the importance of manufacturing and how infused it is with technology. He showed how programming CNC’s machines in Mastercam provides realistic simulation and graphics and how the CNC manufacturing process goes from design, to manufacturing design, programming, production, and inspection. During the inspection phase, it was explained how Verisurf software is used to compare the final product back to the original CAD model provided by the engineering team.
Many students were impressed with the capabilities of the software packages and could relate to using computers to drive the equipment and overall manufacturing efficiency.
