QTE Customer Globalparts Aero Manufacturing Starts Up With Latest Technology

By September 11, 2013No Comments

Globalparts Aero Manufacturing, Augusta, Kansas, has recently started up and is using the latest in technology to maximize its performance.

Starting up at the first of the year, the sister division of Global Parts (an aerospace parts distributor) is managed by long-time industry veterans Chris Roberts and Michael Oakleaf. The firm offers 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machining on some of the latest equipment. Globalparts Aero Manufacturing is already AS9100 certified (with no findings).

An important part of the operation was the quick implementation of Mastercam and Verisurf inspection software purchased through QTE Manufacturing Solutions. “The service from QTE has been great.” stated Roberts. “They came to our shop after hours and got us up and running. The software is important to our focus on product quality and is a great example of using leading technology to innovate.”

Globalparts Aero Manufacturing works with any metal and can handle parts up to a 59” cube size. The firm has six new pieces of CNC equipment including four VMCs and two HMCs. Its six employees work in 20,000-sq.-ft. of space with plenty of room for growth. Two of its VMCs are new Haas UMC-750 5-axis machining centers. These are the first of this model to be installed anywhere. They feature dual axis trunnion tables, 40-tool changers and 8100- rpm direct drive spindles.
